Orange County, Texas (October 20, 2020) – One person was killed, and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday in Orange County, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly crash happened around 5:50 a.m., on Interstate 10, near Doty Road.

DPS said a 3/4-ton Dodge pickup truck towing a car hauler with three vehicles was traveling westbound on the interstate. The Dodge driver said his vehicle experienced mechanical issues and was partially disabled in the left lane of traffic. He exited the Dodge to check on the mechanical issue when the trailer portion of his vehicle was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck.

The front passenger of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash closed all westbound lanes of Interstate 10.

The crash remains under investigation.
