Albert Moreno Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 361 in Port Aransas

Albert Moreno Seriously Injured in Port Aransas Crash on Highway 361

Port Aransas, Texas (June 20, 2022) – Albert Moreno was seriously injured after being involved in a fatal head-on collision Thursday morning near Port Aransas

According to the Port Aransas Police Department, the crash happened at around 7:36 a.m. Thursday, June 16, on State Highway 361 near the Cinnamon Shore North subdivision.

Police said a Chevrolet SUV was traveling southbound on State Highway 361 when the driver drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a northbound Chevrolet pick-up driven by Moreno.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

Moreno was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. He was then airlifted to Christus Spohn Shoreline in a life-threatening condition.

State Highway 361 was closed in both directions following the wreck.

The crash remains under investigation.
