James Davis Killed in 3-Vehicle Crash on George Bush Turnpike in Carrollton

James Davis ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Carrollton Crash on George Bush Turnpike
Carrollton, Texas (January 3, 2019) – The motorcyclist who was killed Monday night in a traffic collision in Carrollton has been identified as James Dezimon “Dezi” Davis, 61, according to authorities.
The deadly crash occurred just after 9:30 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, on the George Bush Turnpike.
Authorities said Davis was riding his motorcycle southbound on the George Bush Turnpike with his hazard lights flashing when he was rear-ended by a Jeep driven by Charles Murphy, 32.
The force of the impact threw Davis from his bike. Moments later, the driver of a FedEx truck swerved to avoid the collision but ended up running over Davis on the road.
DPS reports showed that the truck briefly stopped and then left the scene without rendering aid to the motorcyclist. Davis was declared dead at the scene.
According to the DPS reports, Murphy stopped at the scene and complied with investigators.
The crash remains under investigation by DPS.
