Leander, Texas – The person who was killed Monday night in a motorcycle crash in Leander has been identified as 29-year-old Brendan Kayle Johnson of Leander, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 6:12 p.m., April 15, at the intersection of Sheila Drive and southbound US 183.

Police said a Chevrolet van pulled out of Sheila Drive to turn left on U.S. 183 and was rear-ended by Johnson who was riding a Honda motorcycle.

Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The van driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. The driver was cited for failure to yield right of way turning left.

The Leander Police Department’s collision reconstruction team is investigating the crash. Witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage of the crash should contact Cpl. Gonzalez at 512-528-2800 or cgonzalez@leandertx.gov.
