Toan Duong Killed in NE El Paso Two-Vehicle Crash at Gateway South and Sean Haggerty

El Paso, Texas (August 31, 2023) – A man died after he was involved in a two-vehicle crash earlier this month in northeast El Paso, according to the authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 3:49 a.m., August 18, at the intersection of Gateway South and Sean Haggerty.

Authorities said a semi-truck was heading southbound on Gateway approaching the intersection while 40-year-old Toan Thuan Duong, of Houston, was driving a Lexus and entered the intersection.

The semi-truck was unable to stop and T-boned the Lexus.

Duong was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, where on August 24, Special traffic Investigators were contacted by the Medical Examiner’s Office, stating that Duong had died from his injuries.

The semi-truck driver was taken to the hospital with a broken rib.

The crash remains under investigation.
