Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on FM 973 in Austin 

One Killed in Austin Pedestrian Accident on FM 973 near Tesla Road

Austin, Texas (December 15, 2022) – According to the Texas DPS, a person was killed on Tuesday in a hit-and-run accident in Southeast Austin.

The deadly accident happened between 9:45 p.m., and 11:00 p.m., December 6, on FM 973 near Tesla Road.

DPS said the pedestrian was struck by a 2016 to 2018 model Dodge Ram pickup. The truck fled the scene after the accident.

The victim was found dead by a citizen in a ditch.

The authorities are looking for the truck, which would have damage in the front right headlight area.

The authorities are investigating the crash. Anyone who knows anything about the incident or notices a vehicle matching the damage, including employees at parts stores or collision repair shops, is asked to contact Austin DPS Communications Department at 512-424-7391.
