1 Killed in 3-Vehicle Crash on Expressway 281 in Edinburg

45-Year-Old Man Killed in Edinburg Three-Vehicle Crash on Expressway 281

Edinburg, Texas (December 24, 2019) – One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Edinburg, according to a local news release.

The fatal crash took place around 2:28 a.m. December 23, in the 4700 block of Expressway 281, near Davis Road.

As per the release, a Jeep Wrangler was traveling in the southbound lanes of the expressway when the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed the grassy median and ended up in the northbound lanes where it stopped.

A northbound Chevrolet Equinox then hit the stalled Jeep. A Dodge Durango also hit the Jeep.

The Jeep driver, a 45-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chevrolet driver, a 55-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Dodge driver, a 26-year-old man, was uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
