5 Injured in Head-On Crash on Calvary Road in Willis

Child among Five Hospitalized after Willis Car Accident on Calvary Road near Interstate 45
Willis, Texas (January 19, 2019) – Five people, including a child, were injured late Thursday night in a head-on collision in the Willis area, according to a local news source.
The three-car accident happened on Calvary Road, approximately a mile west of Interstate 45 Thursday, January 17.
According to authorities, a Land Cruiser was traveling westbound on Calvary Road while a Kia Rio driven by a woman, was heading eastbound.
Police said a Dodge Journey was traveling at a high rate of speed when it passed the Land Cruiser just under a bridge and collided head-on with the Kia.
The Land Cruiser then veered off the roadway and drove through a fence-line and struck a utility pole, snapping it off its base.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated the woman and child who were trapped inside the Kia. A man and woman trapped inside the Land Cruiser were also pulled from the wreckage.
All four victims sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital in stable condition.
The three vehicles sustained heavy damage.
The crash remains under investigation.
