Angelica Garcia Killed in Car Crash on US 59 in Goliad County

Angelica Garcia Killed in Goliad County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 59 at FM 1726

Goliad County, Texas – A woman was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Goliad County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 11:30 a.m., January 4, in the area of US 59 and Farm-to-Market Road 1726.

DPS said Angelica Arriazola Garcia, 59, of Goliad, was driving a white Chevrolet Malibu southbound on FM 1726 while a silver Chevrolet Silverado 2500 towing a trailer was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 59. 

Garcia stopped at the intersection, then entered the intersection and was preparing to turn left when the Malibu was struck by the Silverado.

Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The truck driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
