5 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 183 in Travis County

Five Injured in Travis County Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 183 near Maha Loop Road

Travis County, Texas (December 16, 2021) – Five people were injured Thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash in southern Travis County, according to officials.

The crash occurred around 7:05 a.m., on U.S. Highway 183, near Maha Loop Road.

Officials said three vehicles were involved in the crash.

A teenager was airlifted to Dell Seton Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Two adults were taken to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center by ambulance. One of them had life-threatening injuries, and the other had serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Two children were taken to Dell Children’s Hospital with minor injuries.

The crash closed a portion of U.S. Highway 183.

An investigation is underway.
