5-Year-Old Boy Killed in Corpus Christi Two-Vehicle Crash on Old Brownsville Road 

Corpus Christi, Texas (June 3, 2021) – A 5-year-old boy was killed Tuesday afternoon in a head-on collision in Corpus Christi, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened on June 1, on Old Brownsville Road.

Police said a 36-year-old man was driving an SUV when he crossed over into the opposite direction and crashed head-on into a car occupied by a 38-year-old mother and her 5-year-old son.

The 5-year-old boy was in a booster seat and was buckled in at the time of the crash. Officers said the seat belt failed, and the booster seat flew out from underneath the boy during the crash. The boy was killed in the crash. His name has not been released.

The SUV driver sustained non-severe injuries in the crash.

The mother sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The crash closed Old Brownsville Road to Airport Road for several hours.

The police are investigating the crash.
