64-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured in DWI Crash at MLK Blvd and Idalou Highway in Lubbock; Saul Hernandez Arrested

Lubbock, Texas – A 64-year-old woman was seriously injured and a teen was arrested on Friday following a DWI crash in East Lubbock, according to the Lubbock Police Department.

The crash happened around 11:32 p.m., June 14, at the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Idalou Highway.

Police said 19-year-old Saul Hernandez was driving when he crashed into another vehicle at the intersection.

Hernandez was arrested and was taken to the Lubbock County Detention Center where he was charged with a felony count of intoxication assault with a vehicle.

The other driver, a 64-year-old woman, was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
