65-Year-Old Man Killed in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident at Walters and Dignowity Street

San Antonio, Texas (March 19, 2022) – A 65-year-old man was fatally hit by a vehicle Friday evening in San Antonio’s East Side, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 5:45 p.m., March 18, at the intersection of Walters and Dignowity Street.

Police said a white Chrysler 200 was traveling northbound in the left lane of North Walters Street when it turned left onto Dignowity Avenue. It turned in front of a dark blue Chrysler 300 that was traveling southbound on Walters, and the blue car hit the passenger side of the white Chrysler.

Both cars then redirected to the southwest corner of the intersection, where the white Chrysler hit a 65-year-old man who was walking near the intersection.

The man was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The Chrysler driver, a 27-year-old woman, was arrested on outstanding municipal court warrants.

The police are investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, pedestrian, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
