Robert Hughes Killed in Martin County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20

Martin County, Texas (October 1, 2019) – A man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Martin County, according to the authorities.

The crash took place around 2:30 a.m. September 29, on Interstate 20.

DPS said Robert Hughes, 83, of Kingman, Arizona, was driving a 2015 Kia Sorento westbound in the eastbound lane when he crashed into an eastbound 2019 Freightliner which was towing a semi-trailer.

Hughes, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two occupants of the Freightliner were uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
