7 Injured in Citibus Crash at Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue in Lubbock

7 Hospitalized after Lubbock Citibus Accident at Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue

Lubbock, Texas (June 6, 2019) – Seven people were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after a traffic accident in Lubbock, according to a local news source.

The crash occurred just after noon Wednesday, June 5 near Marsha Sharp Freeway and University Avenue, in front of the Chick-fil-A.

As per the report, a Citibus was traveling northbound on University when it tried to turn westbound onto the Marsha Sharp Freeway access road and collided with a pickup truck that was heading southbound on University Avenue.

The Citibus then slammed into a concrete barrier after the impact.

Two occupants of the pickup truck were transported to a hospital. Five people on the bus were also hospitalized. All injuries were classified as minor to moderate.

The crash caused the closure of several northbound and southbound lanes on University Avenue. Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
