70-Year-Old Man Hit, Killed by Vehicle on US 181 in San Antonio

70-Year-Old Man Killed in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on US Highway 181

San Antonio, Texas – A 70-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday night in San Antonio’s Southeast Side, according to the police.

The deadly accident happened around 9:00 p.m., December 8, on US Highway 181 South.

Police said the man was walking to a convenience store across the highway when he was struck by an eastbound Ford Explorer.

The driver stopped and immediately called 911. She told officers she did not see the man and attempted to swerve but was unsuccessful.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The driver was evaluated for DWI and was found not to be under the influence.

The police are investigating the crash.
