71-Year-Old Man Struck, Killed by Truck at Canal and North Sampson Streets in Houston

71-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident at Canal Street and North Sampson Street

Houston, Texas (September 7, 2022) – A 71-year-old man died after he was struck by a truck on Thursday afternoon in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The deadly crash occurred at around 2:20 p.m., September 1, at the intersection of Canal Street and North Sampson Street.

Houston police said the man was walking across North Sampson Street inside a crosswalk when he was hit by a Ford F-150 that was turning left from Canal Street.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, September 3. His name has not been released.

The driver of the pick-up truck was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
