Two Killed and Two Injured in Live Oak County Car Crash at U.S. Highway 59 and FM 624

Live Oak County, Texas (October 19, 2020) – Two women were killed, and two others were injured Sunday afternoon in a traffic collision in Live Oak County, 15 miles southwest of George West, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on October 18, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 59 and FM 624.

DPS said a small vehicle was traveling westbound FM 624 when it ran a stop at the intersection and was struck by an 18-wheeler that was traveling southbound on Highway 59.

The impact caused the 18-wheeler to hit a parked pickup truck.

Two women were ejected from the vehicle and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other passengers in the vehicle were taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi for treatment.

The driver of the 18-wheeler and the pickup truck driver were uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
