Alfredo Oyervides Killed in Andrews County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1788 near SH 176

Andrews County, Texas (April 22, 2022) – A 54-year-old Andrews man was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Andrews County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash occurred around noon, April 20, on FM 1788 near State Highway 176.

DPS said Alfredo Oyervides, 54, of Andrews, was driving a Corvette southbound on the highway when a Freightliner truck and trailer driven by a 47-year-old Odessa man slowly drifted into the southbound lane and crashed into the front of the Corvette.

Oyervides was killed in the crash.

The Freightliner driver was taken to Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews, where he was treated released.

The crash remains under investigation.
