Alfredo Silva Jr. Killed in Duval County Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 44 near CR 302

Duval County, Texas (April 8, 2023) – A man was killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Duval County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 9:40 a.m., April 7, on State Highway 44 by County Road 302 near San Diego.

DPS said a Ford F-150 was heading westbound when it veered into the opposite lane and hit a large box truck.

The Ford driver, Alfredo Silva Jr., 35, of Alice, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people in the box truck were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
