Allen Gonzales Hit, Killed by Semi-Truck at Dumas Highway and Cherry Avenue in Amarillo

Allen Gonzales Killed in North Amarillo Pedestrian Accident at Dumas Highway and Cherry Avenue

Amarillo, Texas (September 11, 2023) – The man who was hit and killed by a semi-truck early Thursday morning in north Amarillo has been identified as 57-year-old Allen Gonzales, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 12:40 a.m., September 7, at the intersection of Dumas Highway and Cherry Avenue.

Police said that a witness, a reported friend of Gonzales, said that he was there because Gonzales’ car had broken down on the side of the road and that the two had been in the area to retrieve property from the car. Gonzales was struck by a semi-truck while he was retrieving the things from the car.

The semi-truck left the scene after the accident.

Gonzales was killed in the crash.
