Cori Winch Injured in Fatal Argyle Crash on Route 40

Argyle, Texas (August 24, 2019) – A sheriff’s deputy was injured in a fatal head-on collision on Monday morning in Argyle, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened at about 7:00 a.m. August 19, on Route 40.

Police said an elderly woman was driving a vehicle that collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle operated by a sheriff’s deputy. The deputy reportedly crossed the centerline, leading to the crash.

The elderly driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deputy, identified as Cori Winch, 24, was taken to Glens Falls Hospital and was said to be in stable condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
