Angel Barraza-Karnes ID’d as Man Killed in El Paso Crash at Interstate 10 West and MM 24
El Paso, Texas (January 9, 2023) – Authorities have identified the man who died in an early Sunday morning crash in El Paso as 23-year-old Angel Barraza-Karnes.
The deadly wreck occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday, January 8 at Interstate 10 West and MM 24.
According to the authorities, Barraza was driving a Ford Mustang at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, which rear-ended a Hyundai trailer.
Barraza’s vehicle continued across the roadway and hit a curb and a road sign.
Barraza was ejected from his vehicle upon the impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Barraza’s two passengers were transported to a hospital, one of them with critical injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
