Anthony D. Stubbs Arrested After Fatal Midland Pedestrian Accident at Rankin Highway and Wolcott Avenue

Midland, Texas (August 5, 2020) – The driver who was involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a 68-year-old woman dead last month in Midland has been arrested, according to officials.

The deadly accident occurred just before 6:00 a.m. July 23, at the intersection of Rankin Highway and Wolcott Avenue.

Police said Andrea Romero Pruneda was walking at the intersection when she was struck by a Kia Sorento driven by Anthony D. Stubbs, 41, of Odessa.

Pruneda was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Stubbs fled the scene after the accident. He was later arrested and is being held at Midland County jail on a charge of accident involving death.

An investigation is underway.
