Arnoldo De La Rosa Killed, Raul Villanueva Injured in Ector County Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 20

Ector County, Texas (January 19, 2022) – According to the authorities, one person was killed, and another was injured on Tuesday in a wrong-way crash in Ector County.

The fatal crash happened on January 18, on Interstate 20, 15 miles east of Monahans.

Authorities said Raul Villanueva, 36, of Monahans, was driving eastbound in the westbound lane of the interstate when he crashed into a westbound vehicle driven by Arnoldo Esquivel De La Rosa, 28, of Denton.

De La Rosa was killed in the crash.

Villanueva was taken to Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries. 

Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. 

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
