Ashley Marie Frias ID’d as Teenager Killed in Smith County Crash on FM 344
Smith County, Texas (May 28, 2019) – The teenager who was killed Sunday night in a traffic accident in Smith County has been identified as Ashley Marie Frias, 18, of Bullard, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The fatal crash happened on Sunday, May 26, on FM 344.
DPS said Frias was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound when she left the roadway, struck a guardrail and traveled into the eastbound lane where she collided with a 2012 Ford F-150 driven by Tracy Damon Anderson, 46, of Whitehouse.
Frias was taken to a Tyler hospital where she later died. A 15-year-old male passenger in her vehicle was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Anderson was taken to another Tyler hospital in stable condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
