Jose Gonzalez Seriously Injured in Lubbock Pedestrian Crash on Loop 289

Lubbock, Texas (September 15, 2021) – According to the police, a person was seriously injured Tuesday night in a pedestrian accident in South Lubbock.

The accident happened around 9:47 p.m., September 14, in the 2500 block of the S. Loop 289 eastbound access road.

Police said Jose Gonzalez, 46, was in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound in the access road.

Gonzalez was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is investigating the crash.
