Lufkin, Texas (October 11, 2023) – A Lufkin man was airlifted after a traffic collision involving two vehicles early Tuesday morning in Lufkin, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The wreck happened at about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, on state Highway 103 at the intersection of Tom Holland Road.

DPS said Gragg was driving a 2009 GMC pickup northbound on Tom Holland Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the passenger’s side of a 2012 Dodge SUV driven by Randall Page, 26, of Lufkin, who was traveling eastbound on State Highway 103.

Kyle Gragg, 34, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to UT Tyler.

Page, who was not injured, fled the scene on foot but was later located a short time later at a private residence.

DPS is investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
