Stephen Sanders Killed in Crash on SH 6 in Shackelford County

Stephen Sanders Killed in Shackelford County Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 6

Shackelford County, Texas – One person was killed on Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash in Shackelford County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on February 21, on State Highway 6, about six miles south of Albany.

DPS said a Ford SUV was traveling northbound when it veered into the oncoming lane and struck a semi-tractor.

The SUV overturned and caught fire east of the roadway after the crash.

The SUV driver, Stephen Otho Sanders, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi-tractor also caught fire, but the driver, Rangel Jorge Ramirez, 37, of Houston, did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
