At Least 1 Dies after Winkler County Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 115

Winkler County, Texas (August 6, 2019) – At least one person died in a head-on collision that occurred on Monday morning in Winkler County, according to the Winkler County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported around 6:05 a.m. Monday, August 5, on Highway 115, about five miles south of Kermit.

Officials said two vehicles collided head-on for unknown reasons on the highway. One of the vehicles caught fire on impact and three occupants were trapped.

At least one man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

The crash remains under investigation.
