At Least Six Injured in Bridge City Six-Vehicle Crash on Texas 87 at Texas 62

Bridge City, Texas (March 26, 2022) – At least six people were injured Friday afternoon in a six-vehicle crash in Bridge City, according to the authorities.

The crash happened around 4:20 p.m., March 25, at the intersection of Texas 87 and Texas 62.

Authorities said a 2016 Dodge pickup was traveling eastbound when the driver possibly had a medical episode, traveled through the intersection, and hit a Cadillac SUV, which was stopped at the red light in the inside lane.

The impact pushed the Cadillac into a 2020 Hyundai passenger car, which was also stopped at the intersection in the outside lane.

The Dodge continued and struck a 2019 Ford pickup, pushing it into a 2001 Chevrolet pickup. The Chevrolet was then pushed into a 2018 Chevrolet pickup that was stopped at the intersection.

At least six people, including two children, were taken to the hospital for treatment.

A teenager refused treatment at the scene.

The DPS is investigating the crash.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, 18-wheeler, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation
