Trevor Burns Killed in Gainesville Car Crash on U.S. 82 near FM 2739

Gainesville, Texas (October 7, 2020) – A man was killed Saturday morning after his car collided with a tractor in Gainesville, a local news source reported.

The fatal crash occurred around 10:40 a.m., October 3, on U.S. 82 near FM 2739.

DPS said Trevor Burns, 44, was of Nocona, was driving a 1997 Ford pickup westbound on the highway when he veered onto the shoulder and struck a John Deere tractor that was pulling a seed drill.

Burns was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was diverted westbound on U.S. 82 to FM 1198 through Myra, connecting back to Muenster west of the crash for about two hours.

An investigation is underway.
