Ball High School Student Killed, Several Others Injured in Galveston Crash at 41st Street and Avenue O

Galveston, Texas (September 3, 2022) – A Ball High School student was killed and several other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday night at an intersection in Galveston, according to the Galveston Police Department.

The deadly crash happened at around 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, at the intersection of 41st Street and Avenue O. The area is in front of Ball High School.

According to Witnesses, a white Toyota SUV was traveling westbound on Avenue O at a high rate of speed when it hit a Jeep that was heading northbound on 41st Street.

The student was riding as a passenger in their vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of the family.

Several other people were transported to a hospital, where some patients were listed in critical condition and some in stable condition.

Alcohol or drugs were considered a factor in the crash.
