Bellanira Contreras Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash at West University and Westcliff Road in Odessa

Odessa, Texas – A 33-year-old woman was killed Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Odessa, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 5:43 p.m., April 2, at the intersection of West University and Westcliff Road.

DPS said 33-year-old Bellanira Contreras of Odessa was driving a 2021 Dodge Challenger westbound on University and was approaching the intersection. Baldemar Aguilar, 60, of Odessa, was driving a 2023 Ford F-250 eastbound on University, approaching the intersection.

Contreras failed to yield the right of way and turned left in front of Aguilar, resulting in a collision.

Contreras was pronounced dead at the scene.

Aguilar was uninjured in the crash.

The Texas DPS is investigating the crash.
