Bernard Uhler II Killed in Copperas Cove Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 116

Copperas Cove, Texas (August 14, 2023) – A man was killed Saturday afternoon in a head-on collision south of Copperas Cove, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 12:26 p.m., August 12, on FM 116.

DPS said a 2007 BMW passenger car was traveling southbound on the highway while a 2023 Toyota pickup was traveling northbound.

The BMW crossed over the center turn lane into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into the Toyota.

The Toyota became fully engulfed in flames after the crash. 

The Toyota driver, a 46-year-old and a 42-year-old passenger, sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Bernard Christian Uhler II, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
