49-Year-Old Killed in Houston Three-Vehicle Crash on Monroe Boulevard at Scranton Street

Houston, Texas (January 3, 2022) – The 49-year-old man who was injured on December 26 in a three-vehicle crash in Houston has died, according to the police.

The victim died on December 28.

The crash happened around 2:20 p.m., in the 8500 block of Monroe Boulevard at the intersection with Scranton Street.

Police said the man was driving a silver Chevrolet Silverado on Scranton Street and was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection. He left the stop sign to cross Monroe Boulevard, and his vehicle was struck by a red Toyota Scion tC. The force of the impact caused the Chevrolet to roll over and become engulfed in flames. A red Chevrolet Camaro swerved to avoid the crash, went across a median, and struck a light pole.

Investigators said the Toyota and the Camaro were traveling at high rates of speed and were possibly racing each other at the time of the crash.

The Chevrolet driver and the Toyota driver were taken to HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake, where the Chevrolet driver later died. His name has not been released.

The police are investigating the crash.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
