Marie Chambers Killed in Two-Car Accident on U.S. 287 in Ennis

Marie Chambers ID’d as Woman Killed in Ennis Crash at U.S. 287 and Pigg Road
Ennis, Texas (March 20, 2019) – Authorities have identified the woman who was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Ennis as Marie Chambers, 63, of Waxahachie.
The tragic wreck happened at around 5:23 a.m. Thursday, March 14 at the intersection of U.S. 287 and Pigg Road.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety, a silver 2016 Toyota Corolla passenger car was heading northbound on Pigg Road, approaching U.S. 287 when the driver ran a red light and drove out into the right lane of U.S. 287.
The passenger car was hit by a white Ford E-250 utility van that was heading southbound on U.S. 287. Both vehicles ended up in the center divider as a result of the collision.
Mrs. Chambers, who was the driver of the passenger car, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Baylor Scott & White Hospital, in Waxahachie. She was later declared dead at the hospital.
The driver of the utility van was also taken by ambulance to Baylor Scott & White Hospital with possible injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
