Rider Dies in Copperfield Bicycle Accident on FM 529

Copperfield, Texas (June 10, 2019) – A bicyclist was fatally hit by a vehicle on Saturday night in Copperfield, according to the police.

The crash occurred at about 7:50 p.m. June 8, on FM 529, just west of Texas 6.

Police said a bicyclist was crossing FM 529 when he was hit by an eastbound white Dodge Ram 2500.

The rider was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Dodge, identified as Dewayne Arkadie, was arrested and charged with DUI.

The crash is under investigation.
