Bicyclist Killed in Crash on Lamar Boulevard in Austin

One Killed in Austin Bicycle Accident on Lamar Boulevard near West 11th Street

Austin, Texas (April 19, 2023) – A bicyclist was killed early Tuesday morning in a crash in Downtown Austin, according to officials.

The deadly accident happened around 8:20 a.m., April 18, in the 1100 block of N. Lamar Boulevard near West 11th Street.

Officials said the bicyclist was riding northbound on the sidewalk when they fell off into the roadway and was struck by a pickup truck.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The crash closed the northbound and southbound lanes and have since been reopened.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
