Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Williamson County; Julio Tapia Arellano Wanted

One Killed in Williamson County Bicycle Accident on Ronald Reagan Boulevard; Julio Tapia Arellano Wanted

Williamson County, Texas (September 25, 2020) – The suspect who was involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist dead in August has been identified as 42-year-old Julio Tapia Arellano, according to the deputies.

The deadly accident occurred around 8:50 a.m., August 30, on Ronald Reagan Boulevard near County Road 239.

DPS said a 2006 GMC Yukon was traveling westbound on Ronald Reagan Boulevard when it veered into the shoulder and struck Donald Prado, 59, of Georgetown, who was riding a bicycle.

The Yukon then crashed into the guardrail before coming to a stop.

Prado was killed in the crash.

The Yukon driver, Arellano, fled the scene on foot. The authorities are still looking for him.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with information about Arellano’s whereabouts is asked to call 512-930-7391.
