Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run on Eastex Freeway in Harris County

One Killed in Harris County Bicycle Accident on Eastex Freeway near Freeport Street

Harris County, Texas (September 15, 2021) – According to the deputies, a bicyclist was killed Tuesday night in a hit-and-run accident in east Harris County.

The deadly accident happened around 11:45 p.m., September 14, in the 14100 block of the East Freeway service road near Freeport Street.

Deputies said the bicyclist was riding in the westbound lanes of the freeway when he was rear-ended by a vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the accident.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Further details regarding the accident were not immediately provided.

The deputies are investigating the crash.
