Bracia Paige Killed in Odessa Pedestrian Accident on 8th Street near Moody Avenue; Jose Gonzalez Charged

Odessa, Texas – A woman was killed Wednesday evening in a pedestrian accident in Odessa, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident was reported around 8:30 p.m., January 24, near 8th Street and Moody Avenue.

According to the report, 50-year-old Bracia Paige was walking northbound across 8th Street when she was struck by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by 25-year-old Jose Armando Gonzalez.

Paige was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gonzalez was operating a vehicle without a driver’s license and without insurance. He was going 58 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone at the time of the crash. He has been charged with criminal negligent homicide, a “state jail felony,” and was transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
