Carlos Ramirez ID’d as Sheriff Killed in Kendall County Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 10

Kendall County, Texas (July 3, 2019) – The Kendall County Sheriff’s Deputy who was hit and killed by a vehicle Tuesday morning has been identified as Carlos Ramirez, a two year veteran of the sheriff’s office, according to the authorities.

The deadly accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. July 2, on Interstate 10 north of Boerne.

Authorities said two Kendall County sheriff’s deputies pulled over a driver for a traffic violation when they were hit by a passing pickup truck.

Deputy Ramirez was killed in the crash. The other deputy sustained severe injuries.

The driver who had been stopped for the traffic violation was also injured in the crash.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 at the US 87 Business exit were closed following the crash.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
