Carol Pruitt ID’d as Woman Killed in Golinda Crash on U.S. Highway 77 near FM 2939
Golinda, Texas (April 25, 2019) – The woman who was killed Wednesday evening in a head-on crash in Golinda has been identified as Carol Pruitt, 57, of Lott, according to authorities.
The horrific accident occurred just before 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 on U.S. Highway 77, just east of FM 2939.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Pruitt was driving northbound on U.S. Highway 77 when her GMC SUV hydroplaned on wet pavement and crossed into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with an oncoming 18-wheeler.
Pruitt was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 18-wheeler was rushed to a Waco hospital in unknown condition.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
