Catherine Leday ID’d as Woman Killed in Port Arthur Pedestrian Accident on Highway 69

Port Arthur, Texas (January 21, 2020) – The woman who was killed early Sunday morning in a pedestrian accident in Port Arthur has been identified as Catherine Leday, 31, of Beaumont, according to the police.

The deadly accident occurred just before 4:00 a.m. January 19, in the 5100 block of Highway 69.

Police said Leday was walking in the southbound lanes of the highway when she was struck by a vehicle.

Leday was killed in the crash. 

The crash closed the highway for several hours, from Jimmy Johnson to the cloverleaf. The highway was reopened around 8:47 a.m.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
