Celia Reina Among 4 Killed in Hopkins County Car Crash on State Highway 19

Hopkins County, Texas (December 5, 2022) – Celia Reina was among four people who died following a Sunday evening crash in Hopkins County, according to a report released by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The wreck happened at about 5:44 p.m. Sunday, December 4, on State Highway 19.

As per the DPS report, a Ford truck, driven by Gerald Lee Adams, 60, was heading northbound on State Highway 19 when he failed to control the speed and hit a 1998 Toyota, driven by Celestino Reina, 60.

The impact of the collision pushed the Toyota into the southbound lane, where it collided with two vehicles. After the crash, the Ford truck continued northbound on State Highway and collided with another vehicle.

Celestino Reina and his three passengers, including Celia Reina, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers and passengers of the two vehicles that collided with the 1998 Toyota were hurt in the crash. The extent of their injuries was not immediately disclosed.

The driver of the fifth vehicle, Rebecca Harris Goodson, 69, and her passenger, Joyce Marie Moore, 72, were not injured.

Further details regarding the collision were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
