Jose Fraire Killed in 3-Car Crash at MSF and Slide Road in Lubbock

Jose Fraire ID’d as Victim in Fatal Lubbock Three-Vehicle Crash at Marsha Sharp Freeway and Slide Road

Lubbock, Texas (January 2, 2020) – The man who was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon at a Lubbock intersection has been identified as Jose Fraire, 28, according to the police.

The crash occurred around 2:31 p.m., January 1, at the intersection of Slide Rd. and Marsha Sharpe Freeway. 

Police said a 2010 Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on Slide Road while a 2007 Ford Edge was heading eastbound on the Marsha Sharpe Freeway access road. The vehicles then collided at the intersection.

The impact caused the Ford Fusion to spin and collide with a 1997 Ford Explorer.

Fraire, who was the front passenger in the Ford Fusion, was taken to UMC, where he was declared dead.

The driver of the Ford Fusion and the driver and passenger in the Ford Edge sustained moderate injuries.

The LPD Major Crash Unit is conducting the investigation.
