Lubbock, Texas – The person who was killed Monday night in a four-vehicle crash in Central Lubbock has been identified as 67-year-old Gay Attebury, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 6:42 a.m., April 8, at the intersection of 19th Street and University Avenue.

Police said a pick-up truck driven by 54-year-old Charles Long, an SUV driven by 55-year-old Lee Murphy and a second pick-up truck, driven by 57-year-old Reynaldo Flores, were stopped in the left turn lane heading northbound in the 1900 block of University.

Attebury was also driving northbound on University when he crashed into Long’s vehicle, causing a chain-reaction crash involving the other vehicles.

 Attebury was pronounced dead at the scene.

Long, Murphy and Flores sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.
