One Injured in San Benito Car Crash on FM 509

San Benito, Texas (January 12, 2019) – A driver was hospitalized with major injuries following a crash between two vehicles in San Benito on Tuesday morning, according to police.
The crash happened at about 7:25 a.m. January 7 in the 30000 block of South FM 509.
Police said a Chevrolet Impala was traveling northbound on FM 509 when the driver attempted to pass a semi-tractor trailer and collided with an oncoming Ford Econoline van.
The driver of the Impala was critically injured in the accident and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
The identities of the parties involved in the accident were not immediately released.
The San Benito police are investigating the crash.
