Charles Ray Calahan Killed in Bicycle Accident on Scyene Road in East Dallas

55-Year-Old Charles Ray Calahan Killed in East Dallas Bicycle Accident on Scyene Road

Dallas, Texas (March 13, 2020) – The bicyclist who was killed Wednesday night in an alleged hit-and-run accident in East Dallas has been identified as Charles Ray Calahan,55, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident took place around 10:51 p.m. March 11, in the 6600 block of Scyene Road near the border of South Dallas and Pleasant Grove.

Police said Calahan was riding a bicycle westbound when he was hit by a vehicle.

Calahan was declared dead at the scene. 

The involved driver fled the scene after the accident. The vehicle was described as a gray or tan-colored pickup truck.

An investigation into the crash is underway. Anyone with information about the suspect driver is urged to contact Dallas PD and reference incidents 048458-2020 and 048459-2020.
